An Old Favourite: Ortlieb's Inferno

There was a time when I spent seemingly infinite happy hours writing things for this blog. I must have been neglecting somebody or something at the time, because right now I can't imagine how I pulled it off!

In any case, I'm short on inspiration and time and I thought I would dig out an old post I was kind of proud of, Ortlieb's Inferno - A Descent Into Cycling Forum Hell. Holy crap, those were the days.

I am working on new stuff, a video that's taking me a while to finish up. I hope it is worth it. In the meantime, I encourage you to check out that link. Although it is only from 2009, it feels like a lifetime ago. In a good way.

PS - So far only RoadQueen has helped me out with weird searches. Where have all the weirdos gone? Sniff, Sniff, Sigh...

I understand the blog post/time/inspiration thing. I can't imagine this would be problem for you, but I'm almost out of words. Regarding "where are all the weirdos?", I'm not sure. But it seems a lot of people have switched from blogs to social media that requires a shorter attention span. I am one of the remaining weirdos, but lack your keen creativity.

Keep up the good work, my friend!

It's like most of my creative pursuits and has a certain ebb and flow. I find that I do have fewer words sometimes, but that's the time to make some video! Thanks for the praise, it feels good.

I like your blog, by the way. Vicarious rides via nice pics have always floated my boat. Thanks for commenting, because I think I "lost" your blog when it moved...

I used to find time to post stuff from work, where much inspiration occurred in the repair shop and on the sales floor. Between our crappy computers there and the irritability of management in an era of dwindling income, down time there is more safely spent pushing a broom or tidying up clothing racks than trying to put up much of a blog entry.

On the home front time goes to domestic needs. My project list never seems to shrink. I'm hoping to get ahead of it in a couple of weeks. The garage has been rescued from rot and re-stained. The most important piece of gutter is installed on the house, although I still have to finish the little drainage well at the bottom of the downspout. And so on. And when it's my night to cook my brain locks up completely.
