Crunchy! What do you have for a big, strong, steady, large headlight? That asshole who came charging right down on you might have done so anyway, but it looked like you might not have a steady headlight at all in that last bit where you returned to the frozen darkness. Flashing lights make it harder for someone looking at them to determine the distance to them, and the presence of only that would diminish you in the mind of a motorist already inclined to be pushy. If you look like you might be a "real" vehicle, it might smarten jerks like that up a bit.

I don't have a nice steady headlight, just my bright but small "be seen" light that I usually leave on bright flash mode. More recently I've taken to putting it on steady mode when I'm off the street and flashing when I'm on. The addition of a "real" light is a good idea. Perhaps if I'm very very good...

Mrs. Claus, please send the man in the house a Light n Motion Urban 500 headlight so he arrives home in one piece.

Real lights are not a luxury. You will never want to go back to the old dim glow.

Real lights are also increasingly affordable due to the combination of LED lights and Li-Ion batteries. Just remember - a REAL light in blink mode could trigger an epileptic seizure in a susceptible oncoming motorist...
