I'm Not Dead. YAY!

Dear Anyone Who Has Been Wondering If I'm Dead,

I'm not. YAY!

I have not ended up under anybody's wheels, had a heart attack, or gotten squished by a piano dropped from above. That last would be a pretty cool way to go, though. Snuffed in a cacophony of tinkling seems pretty cool to me.

Not that I want to die! I love most things about my life; my family, cycling, even work. What I don't love is that I'm in a dry spell here on the blog... sorry, but the juices just ain't flowin'.

I know myself too well to do a "callin' it quits" kind of post; I must leave this recreation open-ended. I always end up picking my guitar up again, even after long periods without. Same with this, I guess; heaven knows I'll get all wordy and annoying once more, I just don't know when.

So, I guess, don't stay tuned, 'cause it may be a long while. Or DO stay tuned, yeah, and read some of my older, better shit and hope that those days shall return. That's what I'm doing.

Yer Pal,

YAY NOT DEAD! I feel ya, Rantwick. I've been on a dry spell myself lately. Hoping that as the days grow longer and my spirits lift, so will my creative license. :/

My gaps have gotten longer as well. Since I maintain a string of blogs separating my various interests, some of them see gaps of a year or more. Just don't go away completely.

Cool, Nice to know you're not a grease spot on the road. Keep on keeping on my friend.

Thanks for the good news update. If you are looking for inspiration, have you considered changing the scale of your observation of the routing? In other words, instead of 'seeing' your commute as encounters with others, 'see' it at the entire route (macro) scale...or the variations of the pavement surface (micro) scale. I only suggest this because we enjoy your ability to communicate your observations. Write when you want to, we're not going anywhere.

Ugh..."...observation of the routing" should have said "observation of your commute route".

I here ya during this winter. I too am in kind of a funk, but I expect the lengthening days might inspire us all.

I admit to thinking of people who suddenly drop from the blog scene...so nice to hear from you!!

In your absence I've resorted to reading up on Machiavelli. So in Machiavellian fashion I say, Shut up and get back to writing you monkey. Glad to hear all is well. =)

That's ok.. I'll keep an eye here to see when you are back. It's no point trying to force to write if you aren't up to it. I've had the same problem with the Explore BC blog that I am freelancing for. I had a painful dry spell of ideas for a while, and I thought that it would never end. Writer's block?

All bloggers deserve a sabbatical.
Hope to see you soon.
Peace :)
