Have You Seen This? The Invisible Bike Helmet

Is this old news? Maybe, but I just saw it. Thanks again to one of my brothers who sent me the link:

I would like to hear what all you smart cyclists think of this thing. For myself I've got a couple of small reservations, but overall I'm impressed!

I saw the video some time ago, it's not totally new. I thought I was going to have to use my super powers to see an invisible bike helmet...lol =)

You could wear that for about three weeks out of the year in Florida; the rest of the time it'll be way too warm and humid. We don't wear scarves.

Mighk - Yeah, the warm weather thing was one of my reservations too.

Cool engineering, but it presupposes cycling to be dangerous, just like 'visible' helmets. Why not prevent collisions in the first place?

Kind of interesting it comes out of a country that doesn't wear helmets cause they don't think cycling is anymore dangerous than walking :)

Graham - Hey, I'm with you in the "cycling ain't dangerous" club, but I wear a helmet most of the time. Peer/social pressure? Why not, for the rare occasion it might help? Little of both, I think.

This is a very cool idea. Questions and/or concerns: comfort, sensitivity, re-use, price.

Might be hot or restrictive. How much force/tilt/whatever does it take to fire it? Can it be re-packed, or is it one-use only? For 399 Euro, I certainly wouldn't want the thing to pop every time I laid the bike down or banged in to something.

I would REALLY like to try one out.
