Frozen.

Activity on this blog will be sparse for a while longer, I think. Life, work, blah blah blah. You know the drill.

One of my brothers sent me some pictures he saw in the Winnipeg paper (Free Press, I'm guessing, but he didn't say) recently because he thought I would like 'em. I did, and I thought you might too.

No it isn't. Spring has left town.

I do so want the nice weather to arrive! A nice shiny new orange machine will be hanging on a hook in the basement as of this weekend - all it needs is salt free roads and vhooooom! Off we go!

It only freezes if you stop moving! My routine at the end of a slushy ride is to stand the bike up and bounce it a few times to dump off most of the wet stuff. Saves having to scrape it off if it freezes in place.

I did take today off riding and do not feel the least bit guilty. I draw the line on road/sidewalk ice.

Ice is nice! Although coasting down meadowlilly road this morning I was awful glad to have my studded tires...

Chin up, ol' chap!

My ride in shorts and t-shirt last Saturday says spring is rolling north, and will be in your neighborhood soon.

Still winter here. I have heard reports of over 20" still on the ground in areas near here.

Thanks for posting,

Thirteen inches of snow dumped on us last Tuesday into Wednesday, but roads are clearing now. I need base miles before I launch the full commute, though. ONLY the roads are clear, so I have to retrain the motoring public as I start the season. I can't do that AND rebuild my horribly deteriorated physical condition. And I can't hide out on the bike path because it's still a packed-ice snowmobile trail that has to make its transition through "river of mud" to something rideable.

That picture looks like some sort of horror movie. My part of Texas had hit the 80's a bit ago but is back to the 50s/60s.
