I'm Not Back Yet

Hey all, just a quick note to say that I haven't gone off the deep end or been squished by a car or anything. I went on summer vacation in a rather hurried, can't care about the blog right now fashion and was really off the grid for a good while there; I couldn't have updated the blog if I had wanted to.

I'm not really back... still too much crap to do. I'm hoping for a real post of some sort for Monday. Today though, there is one important thing I need to share.

While I was away I had some time for deep reflection and relaxation, and with that time I discovered a serious truth:

Squeezable Relish containers don't work properly. Never have, never will. I hate them.

Glad you're still there - maybe you need to reset your expectations about how relish is supposed to work...

Good luck with all the crap - we look forward to more when you're ready.

I was like that for a bit earlier. I always feel bad when I don't post as frequently for a while. Lots to post now though!

No one worries when I'm gone for a while either and you are right about squeezable relish. It's an abomination I tell you. You can throw mustard, mayo and ketchup in there too. The only good squeezable containers (from a mans point of view) are children, plump women and puppies.

Indeed, Oldfool, Oh how I prefer spooning my toothpaste out of the crock I keep in the medicine cabinet!

The other day I was getting some Helmans out of the squeeze bottle for my tuna fish. After laying a considerable bead I realized I had mistakenly grabbed the sour cream. Same damn white squeeze bottle with the flip top lid.

Looking for a condiment is like checking out a book at the library. Have to go get me a pair of those reading glasses at the drug store.

Yeah, relish totally doesn't work in a squeeze container. It's little chunks, not a paste, gel or fluid. Squeeze relish is like something the bike industry would come up with.

As an engineer, I am constantly frustrated by the amount of food containers that are poorly designed. Mostly, my ire is directed at cardboard stuff with perforated strips you're supposed to be able to tear off, leaving a tab that's supposed to be closeable. They never seem to work. Presumably this is because they are designed by people posing as engineers who have no concept of the material they are working with.

So I definitely feel your pain.
