Thanksgiving Was 1-1/2 Months Ago

So I don't know what all this Thankful talk I'm seeing all over the Internet is about. Not that I mind, you know. Spontaneous feelings of thankfulness are great. For example, I'm thankful that the visitors to this blog come from all over the world. From Thailand to, say, oh I don't know... the USA, for instance.

I'm also feeling thankful for turkeys, 4 downs instead of 3 in football and the ancestors who made trips across the Atlantic to settle new lands. What's that all about? I do puzzle myself sometimes, that's for sure.

For example, these random feelings of Thankfulness are mixed with abnormally high levels of "I shouldn't be at work" and "I'm being left out somewhow". Why would I feel that way? I don't get it. Ah well, I guess I'll just get back to work and forget about it. I'm sure these strange feelings will pass the gravy.

Yer Pal,

Well down here in Texas, we do turkey BIG. (Perhaps we will only have a dozen or so of us injured from a failed attempt at frying a turkey!)

But I know one foreign blogger who seems to have an out-sized presence here in Texas, and I 'm sure the name Rantwick comes up in any of our lists of things we are thankful for- A Canadian rock star who we reckon is a friend!

(Affecting a John Wayne drawl here --->) Those are unusual odds your buck'n there, pilgrim!

ChipSeal clearly hasn't erected a turkey derrick to safely fry his bird. I don't imagine GC views such activities as approved even in October. With or without a proper derrick.

Seriously, we celebrate it today because of the Civil War. As I recall, Canada's role in that was to provide a rebel base on thankfully few occasions.

Yeah, well, when do ya celebrate COLUMBUS DAY?

Huh?

Huh?

Rantwick is hiding the truth - namely that Canada DID celebrate Thanksgiving in November until 1931.

Happy frying, all you lunatics!

Doohickie - You being agressive is way nicer than most of my local friends being normal.

Steve - I am just going to ignore you today, for which I'm guessing you will be thankful.

Thanks.

I guess.

P.S. We didn't have turkey, we made a pork roast and a killer (okay, maybe not killing, but maiming) butternut squash-sweet potato-pear soup.

Doohickie - I'm sure it was actually killer, but you didn't want to brag. Sounds super good.
